CLASS 2 SKIP DRIVER / YARD & PLANT OPERATIVE
Full-Time | Permanent | Monday–Friday | Wrexham
We are a small, established family-run waste and recycling business in Wrexham, looking for a reliable and hardworking Class 2 Skip Driver / Yard & Plant Operative to join our team.
This is a varied, hands-on role covering skip deliveries and collections, plant operation and general yard duties. We’re looking for someone who is flexible, has a strong work ethic and is willing to get stuck in wherever needed.
The Role
Duties will include:
- Driving a Class 2 skip lorry, carrying out skip deliveries and collections
- Operating excavators and telehandlers
- Sorting and segregating waste on the yard
- Loading, moving and processing materials
- General manual work and yard duties
- Keeping the site clean, tidy and organised
- Carrying out daily vehicle and plant checks
- Reporting defects or maintenance issues
- Following site health & safety procedures
- Assisting with other duties as required to keep the site running efficiently
What We’re Looking For
- Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Valid digital tachograph card
- Skip lorry experience is preferred but not essential, as training can be provided
- Experience operating excavators and telehandlers
- Relevant CPCS/NPORS plant tickets would be an advantage
- Previous waste/recycling experience would be an advantage
- Comfortable carrying out manual and physical work
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Someone who comes to work ready to work and is willing to get stuck in
- Able to use their own initiative and see what needs doing
- Happy working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to work well as part of a small team
This isn’t a driving-only position. We’re looking for an all-rounder who is just as willing to help on the yard as they are to drive a lorry or operate machinery.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
Normal working hours are approximately 7:30am–4:30pm.
An earlier start of around 5:30am is possible on some days, depending on deliveries, collections and workload, so some flexibility with start times is appreciated.
