We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our busy Four Star hotel in South Wales. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food and possess excellent leadership skills to support the Head Chef in delivering 4 star dining experiences. With a busy Lounge Bar Menu operating all day, seven days a week to an a la Carte Restaurant menu available 6 days a week as well as a busy Sunday Lunch Service for 100, this is a great position for an experienced Chef looking to take the next step in their career. We also have a busy function base with banqueting for up to 300.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and overall kitchen operations
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training where necessary
- Ensure food safety standards are consistently met during all stages of food production
- Oversee the cooking process, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest quality
- Manage inventory and stock control, ordering supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and innovative dishes
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a similar role within a busy restaurant kitchen
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on quality and presentation
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
