Job Overview
We are seeking a mature and experienced MOT Tester and vehicle technician to join our small family run business. The ideal candidate must hold a full UK driving license, have an NVQ level 3 or equivalent with a minimum of 5+ years experience in the motor industry and must have a green MOT tester rag. The ideal candidate must work well in a team and individually to carry out MOT testing, servicing, diagnostics and repairs to the highest standards to all makes and models of cars and light commercial vehicles.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30-5.30
Responsibilities
- Overtime may be required.
- Be trustworthy, reliable and have good attention to detail.
- Document test results accurately and provide clear feedback to customers regarding any issues found during inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness of the workshop and its equipment on an ongoing basis, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Stay updated with industry changes and advancements in testing procedures to ensure best practices are followed.
- Adhere to ongoing MOT tester training that will be provided.
- Own tools required.
Experience
- Minimum 5 + years industry experience with level 3 NVQ or equivalent.
- Must hold a full UK driving license.
- Must be an MOT tester Class 4 and 7 with a green tester rag. Class 1 and 2 MOT tester ideal but not essential.
- Must have good general mechanical knowledge with experience in timing belt and clutch replacement.
- Must be confident using diagnostic equipment and fault finding.
The successful candidate will be required to provide 1 professional reference and 1 character reference. A 6 month probation period is required before permanent employment is given.

Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
