We are looking for a Lead Telecommunications Systems Engineer who can take complete ownership of our network design and deployment strategy. You aren't just running cables or setting up hardware; you are architecting resilient communication ecosystems. You will lead field installations and technical operations, bridging the gap between complex network requirements and seamless infrastructure. You are the technical authority in a room full of project managers and enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure Ownership: Lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and deployment of enterprise voice, data, and wireless systems. Ensure absolute reliability across all client networks. Deployment & Testing: Oversee complex installations, from initial site survey and system architecture to high-fidelity network testing, fiber splicing, and client handoff. Technical Leadership: Mentor field technicians and junior engineers. Conduct technical reviews and provide constructive guidance that elevates the team's operational output. Network Diagnostics: Don't just guess. Validate network health using advanced diagnostic tools, packet analysis, and performance metrics before signing off on any deployment. Client & Stakeholder Management: Present technical solutions to key stakeholders and commercial clients. You can explain the technical rationale behind network redundancies, not just that the equipment works.
What We Are Looking For: Experience: 6+ years in telecommunications and network engineering, with at least 1-2 years leading on-site installations or technical teams. Track Record: A proven track record of successful deployment is non-negotiable. We want to see real-world project outcomes, not just a list of skills. Show us the infrastructure challenge, the architecture, and the outcome. Technical Expertise: You are an expert in IP networking, VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323), PBX platforms, routing/switching, and structured fiber cabling. Qualifications & Licensing: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, Avaya, Mitel) are highly regarded. A valid UK driver's license is required for field visits across the Bristol region. Mindset: You are pragmatic. You know when to troubleshoot methodically and when to implement quick redundancies to keep critical communications live.
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
