Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including floors, work surfaces, storage spaces, and waste disposal zones
- Support the organization of kitchen supplies and ingredients to facilitate efficient workflow
- Ensure health and safety standards are upheld by following proper sanitation procedures and reporting any hazards
- Help with setting up dining areas or serving stations when needed to support service staff
- Contribute positively to team efforts by staying flexible and proactive during busy service periods
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hospitality environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of kitchen safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and moving quickly in a busy setting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with chefs, servers, and management
- Basic understanding of culinary processes or previous hotel or restaurant experience is a plus
- Enthusiasm for learning new skills related to cooking, serving, or hospitality operations
