Multi Trades Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established demolition contractor for an experienced 7.5 Tonne Driver / Yard Operative.
This is a varied role combining driving responsibilities with yard and warehouse duties. You'll be delivering and collecting materials, tools, and equipment from demolition sites while supporting the smooth operation of the company's yard.
About the Role
As a 7.5 Tonne Driver, you will safely transport equipment and materials between the company's demolition projects, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently and professionally. When not driving, you'll assist with the day-to-day organisation of the yard, helping to maintain stock, equipment, and storage areas.
Working Hours
- Monday – Friday: 6:30am – 2:00pm (including paid breaks)
- Additional hours and overtime may be available depending on company workload and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Deliveries
- Safely operate a 7.5 tonne (C1) caged tipper vehicle.
- Deliver and collect tools, equipment, materials, and site-related items from demolition projects.
- Complete multi-drop deliveries across various locations.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects.
- Ensure loads are safely secured and transported.
- Plan efficient delivery routes while complying with road restrictions and driver regulations.
- Complete all required delivery paperwork and vehicle documentation.
Yard Duties
- Assist with unloading returned materials and equipment.
- Organise and store stock ready for future use.
- Support the Yard Operative with general warehouse and yard duties.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Compliance
- Comply with Working Time Regulations, Driver Hours, and the Highway Code.
- Follow all Company Health & Safety procedures.
- Attend CPC, FORS, ADR, and Forklift training as required.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
About YouEssential Requirements
- Valid UK Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) Driving Licence.
- Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of Driver Hours and transport legislation.
- Physically fit and able to load and unload vehicles.
- Good communication skills.
- Honest, reliable, and professional.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Desirable
- Clean UK Driving Licence.
- Previous experience in multi-drop deliveries.
- Experience within demolition, plant hire, construction, or similar industries.
- Forklift experience (training can be provided).
