We are seeking a reliable and practical individual to join our in-house maintenance team to help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for the people who use our service. This varied role combines building and grounds maintenance with providing compassionate support to the people who use our service, ensuring their individual needs, wishes and goals are respected and promoted. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will carry out routine maintenance checks, general gardening duties, minor repairs, decorating, basic plumbing tasks and other day-to-day upkeep activities to keep the service safe and fit for purpose.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining outdoor spaces, carrying out health and safety checks, reporting defects and incidents, and ensuring equipment and tools are used and stored safely. You will also build positive relationships with residents, offering encouragement and practical support in line with their support plans. Strong communication skills, a caring attitude and a commitment to equality, dignity and respect are essential. Previous maintenance experience is desirable, along with knowledge of health and safety procedures, good record-keeping skills and the ability to work flexibly. A full UK driving licence would be advantageous, as driving duties may be required to support residents and the service.
