Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. Duties
- Operate lorries and other commercial vehicles in compliance with road safety regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely collection and distribution of goods.
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections, including checking tyres, brakes, lights, and load security.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing of items during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding schedules, delays, or issues on the route.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Assist with general vehicle maintenance when necessary to ensure optimal operation.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety procedures within the UK.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving licence suitable for heavy goods vehicles.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to plan routes efficiently and adapt to changing schedules or conditions.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for documentation and load security.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road. This role is ideal for dedicated drivers committed to maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in a professional logistics environment.
