At Roger’s Artisan Bakery, we are passionate about traditional baking. We are looking for a creative and meticulous individual to join our close-knit production team. This role is perfect for someone who is familiar with the process of lamination and takes pride in the "finishing touches" that make artisan pastries special.
Working within our small team, you will assist in the daily production of our laminated pastries ,ensuring every croissant, pain au chocolat and cruffin etc meets our high standards.
Duties
- Prepare, bake, and present a wide range of pastry products, mainly croissants, pain au choc and cruffins
- Assist in the development of new pastry recipes and menu items
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards and are visually appealing
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry station in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently to uphold hygiene standards
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery of products
Key Responsibilities
- Pastry : Laminating dough daily and shaping a variety of pastries according to our production schedule.
- Baking & Finishing: Operating baking equipment to ensure products are baked to perfection, followed by glazing and decorating.
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with a small group of bakers to assist with general bakery production and bread shaping when required.
- Food Safety & Compliance: Maintaining personal compliance with food hygiene regulations
- Hygiene: Managing daily and deep cleaning tasks and maintaining accurate record-keeping.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience in a professional kitchen or commercial bakery, with specific knowledge of laminated doughs and baking techniques.
- Early Starts: Ability to start work at 4am or earlier to ensure our fresh products are ready for the day.
- Technical Skill: A strong understanding of food safety practices, culinary terminology, and the ability to follow recipes with high accuracy.
- Meticulous Nature: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, especially when working in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Spirit: Excellent communication skills and a willingness to support the wider team during busy periods.
- Availability: Our working week is Tuesday to Saturday. Usual shift pattern 4am to 1pm, although towards the end of the week these could increase.
Pay: £27,040.00-£29,120.00 per year
