Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and flexible Relief Cleaner to join our cleaning team on an as-needed basis. The successful candidate will provide cleaning cover across a variety of sites, helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.
This is a paid, part-time position offering flexibility and the opportunity to gain experience in a range of commercial cleaning environments. You will be contracted to a minimum of 10 guaranteed hours per week. As this is a cover role, additional hours may be available and required to cover staff holidays, sickness, and other absences across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning duties at commercial premises, including offices, retail locations, and public transport facilities.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, surfaces, washrooms, kitchens, and communal areas to agreed standards.
- Safely and effectively use cleaning equipment, materials, and chemicals.
- Replenish consumables such as toilet rolls, soap, hand towels, and other supplies as required.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Adapt to the specific cleaning requirements and procedures of different sites.
- Report maintenance issues, damage, or health and safety concerns to management promptly.
- Ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard within allocated timeframes.
Requirements
- Previous commercial cleaning or janitorial experience is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in approach.
- Flexible and willing to travel between sites as required.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices relating to cleaning operations.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.
