Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic FLT Goods Inwards and General Labourer to join our dynamic manufacturing team
Accountable To: Manufacturing Flow Manager
Main purpose of the role is to: -
To ensure the smooth off loading and intake of purchased products into the plant along with ensuring all operatives have sufficient work at their machine stations
Key Responsibilities:
Goods-Inwards
- All goods received to be checked against the corresponding order
- Random quality inspections of delivered goods
- Register goods received onto the computerised system - following relevant training
- Liaise with purchasing to discuss any discrepancies in deliveries
- Working to standard operating procedures in line with company policy
- Received goods are allocated to the correct storage department or to personnel who have ordered the goods
- Emptying internal skips to large external skips
- Ensure machines within the Mill area are maintained to an optimum level to ensure an efficient process flow within the department
- Take full ownershipr of the yard areas, ensuring they are clean and tidy at all times in line with the 5S standards, pallets and any cannisters awaiting collection are stored in a tidy manner within their allocated spaces.
- Loading of the robotic board storage machine to ensure efficient running of the saws
- The ‘dust house; which houses our biomass heating system must be kept clean and tidy, achieving the 5S standards
- Loading of the biomass ‘shredder’ in the correct method, monitoring when in use, filling as and well required by means of a small skip (this maintains a consistent temperature within the plant)
- Monitor the spark detection system
- Ensure excellent housekeeping
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered too.
Person specification
The ideal candidate will have managed a similar process previously and will be able to prioritize their workload, work with little supervision.
Is methodical in their approach to the job at hand.

Hold the necessary FLT qualification.

Be able to communicate accurate information
Be enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile when needed.

- FLT driving: 2 years (required)
