Healthcare Assistant – Whickham
Full-Time/Part Time Positions Available

We are currently recruiting for Three dedicated Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to an elderly gentleman living in his own home in Whickham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring and compassionate individual who wants to make a real difference by providing continuity, companionship, and support to someone who requires assistance with day-to-day living due to dementia.
About the Role
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide personalised care and support, helping to promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing. You will work closely with the gentleman and his support network to ensure he receives consistent and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care and support with daily routines
- Supporting with mobility and general wellbeing
- Assisting with meals, hydration, and medication support where required
- Providing companionship and reassurance
- Supporting with dementia care in a calm and patient manner
- Encouraging independence while ensuring safety and comfort
- Maintaining a consistent and familiar care environment
Shift Pattern:
We are looking for full time and part time to provide consistent cover across the week.
The shift pattern will include:
- 09:00 – 11:30
- 13:00 – 20:30
- 20:30 – 21:00
The role is designed to provide continuity of care, ensuring the gentleman has a small and consistent team of carers supporting him.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Caring, patient, and compassionate
- Experienced in supporting individuals living with dementia (preferred but not essential)
- Reliable and committed to providing high-quality care
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small care team
- Passionate about making a positive difference to someone’s daily life
- Able to Driver or local to Whickham
Previous experience in a healthcare or care setting is desirable; however, the most important qualities are the right attitude, patience, and a genuine desire to support others.
