The Role
We are looking for an energetic and reliable Fruit & Veg Assistant to join our busy fresh produce team. In this role, you will be the heart of our department, ensuring our shelves are packed with vibrant, high-quality fruit and vegetables every day. You will also be preparing vegetables for our counters and coffee lounge.
Full time – 40 hours. Tuesday - Saturday, 6.00am-2.30pm
£13.45 per hour
Responsibilities
- Receiving and checking deliveries of fresh fruit and vegetables.
- Preparing fresh vegetables for our counters and coffee lounge.
- Building and replenishing attractive fruit and vegetable displays.
- Rotating stock to ensure maximum freshness and minimise waste.
- Keeping accurate records.
- Operating a variety of food preparation equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic work environment.
- Providing friendly and helpful customer service
Desirable requirements
- Great communication skills
- Keen eye for detail for quality control and food safety standards
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous retail or food preparation experience is a plus, but full training will be given
