Maintenance Operative
Location: Northampton (Weedon Bec & Nether Heyford)
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits
Hours: Full-time, Permanent (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm)

We're looking for a proactive Maintenance Operative to join our Facilities team, helping to keep our Northampton sites operating efficiently and safely. Based primarily at Weedon Bec, you'll also regularly support our Nether Heyford site, making every day varied and rewarding.
Whether you're tackling maintenance projects, repairing equipment, maintaining outdoor spaces or supporting facility improvements, you'll play a vital role in the smooth running of our business.
What you'll be doing
As our Maintenance Operative, you'll enjoy a varied workload that includes:

Carrying out a wide range of maintenance tasks including joinery, plumbing, painting, basic electrical work and gardening

Diagnosing and resolving faults to keep our facilities safe, functional and well-maintained

Assembling, dismantling and repairing office furniture

Installing and removing appliances and equipment as required

Replacing damaged fixtures, fittings and workplace equipment

Completing routine building inspections and scheduled maintenance checks

Supporting the Head of Facilities by sourcing materials, obtaining quotations and ordering parts

Recording maintenance activities and reporting recurring issues or concerns

Assisting with emergency repairs and unexpected breakdowns when required

Helping maintain a clean, organised warehouse, offices and external yard areas

Supporting recycling and environmental initiatives across our sites
What we're looking for
We're seeking someone who is practical, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team.
You'll ideally have:

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Broad maintenance experience across a range of trades

Previous experience in maintenance, construction, electrical or plumbing environments (desirable)

Basic Microsoft Office skills

GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Good understanding of health and safety practices

The ability to work independently and use your initiative

A positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic
