Job Summary:
HW Facilities is a family-run specialist commercial cleaning company. We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to join our friendly, hardworking and professional team.
This role has been created to support continued growth across the North and presents an excellent opportunity to join the business during an exciting period of expansion. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality services across a portfolio of commercial cleaning contracts, ensuring operational excellence and maintaining strong client relationships.
This is a field-based role and will involve regular travel across the North of England, supporting multiple sites and building strong relationships with clients and teams.
Reporting to the Head of Key Accounts, the Area Manager will oversee multiple client sites within their designated region, supporting site teams and ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cleaning teams across multiple commercial sites.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality cleaning services in line with company standards.
- Conduct regular site audits and implement improvements where necessary.
- Recruit, train and develop staff to maintain performance and morale.
- Manage scheduling, resource allocation and equipment logistics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to feedback and resolving issues promptly.
- Monitor performance, productivity and compliance across sites.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
- Support contract mobilisations and future business growth within the region.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in operations or team management within the cleaning, facilities management or a similar service sector.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety and compliance standards.
- Flexible approach to working hours and travel.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ideally based in or around the Manchester area.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the North of England, with occasional overnight stays where required.
