Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable class 2 hooklift driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely delivering and collecting roll on/off skips across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members. Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles, including hooklift wagons, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Deliver skips to specified locations efficiently and punctually, adhering to scheduled routes and deadlines
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation
- Ensure proper securing of loads for safety during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and yard personnel regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit
- Follow all health and safety procedures to minimise risks on the road and at delivery sites
Requirements
- Valid cat C driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a HGV delivery driver or similar role
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems is advantageous
- Experience operating 32 tonne hookloader lorries or similar large vehicles preferred
- Waste transfer station or builders yard experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with loading/unloading procedures
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
- Ability to navigate using GPS devices and map reading skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently on busy schedules
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism. Prior experience in driving within logistics or freight sectors will be highly regarded.
