Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Car and Light Commercial Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, including cars and light commercial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles are safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs efficiently.
- Interpret mechanical schematics and technical diagrams to troubleshoot complex problems effectively.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment during repairs or maintenance.
- Maintain detailed records of all service work performed and communicate repair status clearly to customers.
- Assist with vehicle assembly, component replacement, and equipment repair to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a car or light commercial vehicle mechanic with solid mechanical knowledge.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic procedures.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Valid certification or qualification in automotive technology or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
