We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to provide support and companionship to residents during overnight hours in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents throughout the night, assisting with personal care and responding promptly to any needs or emergencies. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents' well-being throughout the night, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, repositioning, and basic hygiene needs
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations or calls for assistance
- Follow individualised care plans to meet each resident’s specific needs
- Maintain accurate records of any incidents or observations during the shift
- Ensure the environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming at all times
- Communicate effectively with residents, team members, and healthcare professionals as required
- Support residents with mobility and daily routines within scope of training and competence
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT skills for recording notes and updating care plans electronically
- Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
- Awareness of health and safety procedures relevant to a care environment
