Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Dog Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the daily operations of our daycare facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for dogs. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about pets, in particular dogs and enjoy working with animals.
Duties
- Assist in the supervision of dogs during playtime, meals, and activities to ensure their safety, well-being, and enrichment.
- Help implement daily activities that promote balance and enrichment.
- Maintain a clean and organised environment by tidying up play areas, sanitising toys, and ensuring all materials are safe for use, and cleaning up dog stools and urine .
- Communicate effectively with owners regarding their dog's daycare and any concerns that may arise, and promote add on extras.
- Support the lead staff in managing daycare behaviour and fostering positive interactions among the dogs.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
- Safely transport dogs in company's equipped van
- Excercising dogs in secure field or on walks in all weathers
Skills
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with owners, and colleagues.
- Patience and confidence when dealing with dogs’s needs and behaviours.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being capable of taking initiative when required.
- Basic knowledge of dog care principles is advantageous and a willingness to learn is key.
- Canine/Pet First Aid certification is desirable but can be obtained upon hiring.
- Daycare, Kennel, Walking, Training or other dog related experience preferred but not essencial as on going training will be offered.
