Job Overview
The Working Cleaning Supervisor plays a vital role in executing daily cleaning duties while managing onsite operations. This hybrid position combines direct physical cleaning with frontline leadership, staff coordination, quality control, and health and safety compliance to maintain an immaculate environment.
Core Supervisor Duties
- Directing, motivation, and line-managing the cleaning crew.
- Distributing daily checklists and specific area assignments to staff members.
- Creating schedules, managing holiday leave, and arranging quick cover for staff absences.
- Conducting routine walkthroughs to verify that rooms meet specified cleanliness standards.
- Training new hires on equipment handling, chemical usage, and standard protocols.
- Reporting facilities damage, staff attendance issues, and performance updates to the overall operations manager.
Hands -On Cleaning Tasks
- Dusting, washing, polishing, and sanitising furniture, desks, and fixtures.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing.
- Emptying internal waste bins, replacing liners, and safely disposing of bulky refuse.
- Deep cleaning and sanitising communal toilets, sinks, showers, and changing areas.
Qualifications
- Standard British Institute of Cleaning Science certification proving mastery of safe cleaning methodologies.
- Documented proof of understanding the safe handling, dilution, and storage of chemical hazards.
Necessary Experience & Background
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of verifiable experience working in commercial or industrial cleaning.
- Demonstration of previously leading small teams, training peers, or covering for managers.
- A clean criminal record check
Essential Practical Skills
- Practical knowledge of operating industrial floor buffers, scrubber-dryers, and heavy-duty carpet extractors.
- Basic Literacy & Numeracy: Ability to read chemical safety data sheets, calculate dilution ratios.
Pay: £14.50 per hour
