Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior IT Consultant to join our innovative technology team. Duties
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive system architecture strategies, including system design, integration, and deployment across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions utilizing technologies such as AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes, and virtualization platforms.
- Design and implement secure network infrastructures incorporating computer networking principles, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, load balancing, and information security best practices.
- Develop and maintain APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), web services (SOAP/REST), and microservices architectures to enable efficient data exchange and interoperability.
- Oversee the configuration and management of operating systems including Windows, Linux/Unix variants, VMware ESXi hosts, and cloud-based platforms while ensuring system stability through proactive system administration and troubleshooting.
- Implement DevOps practices utilizing tools such as Git, Jenkins, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), shell scripting, and automation frameworks to streamline development cycles.
- Conduct debugging, performance tuning, capacity planning, and security assessments to optimize system performance and safeguard organizational data assets.
- Provide expert consultation on IT infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, disaster recovery planning, and compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in systems engineering with a strong foundation in system architecture design for enterprise environments.
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including VPNs, firewalls, DNS/DHCP management, load balancing techniques, and network security protocols.
- Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure; virtualization technologies like VMware ESXi; container orchestration tools including Kubernetes; and virtualization solutions like VMWare vSphere.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, Ruby on Rails, C++, VBA, Shell Scripting (Unix/Linux), and.NET frameworks.
- Experience working with databases including SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL/Microsoft SQL Server/Oracle), NoSQL databases (MongoDB), T-SQL scripting; familiarity with data modeling using tools like Simulink or XML schemas is a plus.
- Strong understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices architecture, SOAP/REST APIs, DevOps methodologies, continuous integration tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server environments and various Linux distributions; experience managing VMware vSphere/ESXi hosts; familiarity with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging complex issues across diverse systems; ability to analyze logs and performance metrics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Effective communicator capable of translating technical concepts into clear recommendations for stakeholders at all levels; committed to continuous learning in emerging technologies such as cybersecurity measures or advanced cloud solutions.

Pay: £34,989.56-£96,438.40 per year
