Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Machine Operator to join our busy industrial laundry team in Llangefni.
This role involves operating commercial laundry machinery and processing linen in a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring customer orders are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Please note this is a standing role within a production environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery to ensure efficient production processes. The successful applicant must be organised, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Feed clean linen such as sheets, duvet covers and table linen into an industrial flatwork ironer
- Ensure linen is fed correctly to maintain quality finishing standards
- Work efficiently to help meet daily production targets
- Identify and remove damaged or unsuitable linen before processing
- Maintain a consistent workflow to support the production line
- Assist with sorting, folding and stacking finished linen where required
- Monitor machinery during operation and report faults or irregularities promptly
- Assist with basic machine set-up or adjustments where required in line with production standards
- Support routine inspections and basic maintenance checks to help prevent equipment issues
- Assist with troubleshooting minor machine issues and liaise with supervisors or maintenance teams when necessary
- Keep the work area clean, organised and safe at all times
- Follow all health and safety procedures and workplace regulations
Please note: This is a standing role in a fast-paced production environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hotel operations or hospitality is advantageous, demonstrating excellent customer service and organisational skills
- Proven ability to operate industrial machinery safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if necessary
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills are essential
