The Greenhouse Kitchen & Restaurant at Blackdown Garden Centre is looking for enthusiastic Catering Assistants to join our growing team. Experience is welcome but not essential—we're far more interested in people with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy, vibrant restaurant where no two days are the same.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Catering Assistant, you'll play an important part in ensuring every customer enjoys a welcoming and memorable visit.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting customers with a warm, friendly and professional manner.
- Serving food, drinks and homemade cakes.
- Preparing teas, coffees and other hot and cold beverages.
- Assisting with light food preparation and kitchen duties.
- Replenishing counters, displays and grab-and-go items.
- Clearing, cleaning and resetting tables promptly.
- Washing crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
- Maintaining exceptional cleanliness throughout the restaurant and kitchen.
- Following food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures.
- Assisting with stock rotation and replenishment.
- Supporting colleagues during busy service periods.
- Handling customer enquiries professionally.
- Operating tills and processing customer payments (training provided).
- Helping create a welcoming atmosphere for every visitor.
- Undertaking general cleaning duties to maintain high standards.
