Job Summary
We're a landscaping business just outside Thirsk, working for councils and companies nationwide.
The role will be to support the office manager in the smooth running of the office with progression available to start taking further responsibilities after an initial training period.
Flexibility of working hours initially available to fit around other commitments but to be set for consistency moving forward. This would suite part time work, but there would be scope for the right person to move into a more full time role eventually.
Duties
- Answering and directing phone calls with professional etiquette
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and post
- Organising and maintaining physical and electronic files
- Data entry using programmes such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Sage accounts.
- Assisting with scheduling appointments and meetings
- Providing general administrative support to team members as needed
- Ensuring the office environment remains tidy and organised
Qualifications
- Previous office experience or administrative experience is preferred
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Experience with accounting software is advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good typing speed and data entry skills with high accuracy
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work independently whilst being a team player
