As part of the Operations Team, you are a key point of contact for our drivers, customers and members of the public. With a positive attitude you will communicate with a range of people, in order to ensure the smooth flow of drivers and vehicles to our customers in a timely and efficient manner. You will use your organisational, planning and problem-solving skills in your day-to-day work and maintain a good team working ethic in-line with our company values. This is a 5/7 role, as we operate 24 hours per day - 7 days a week.
Main Duties and responsibilities
- Liaise with Drivers, the Sales Team, Engineering & External customers with regards to all operational requirements.
- Provide timely communication to all staff about incidents/accidents, fails and service or hire delays and disruptions.
- Deal with breakdowns, late running, accidents, and any other incidents affecting services and staff. Arranging coach procurement outside office hours to cover breakdowns/incidents.
- Control and allocate duties so the scheduled and planned operations are undertaken whilst maintaining efficient cost controls through driver allocation and efficient fleet movement.
- Plan and utilise all vehicle and drivers’ resource effectively.
- Schedule drivers’ allocations in advance, ensuring work is allocated to agreed timelines.
- Delivery & transfer allocation responsibility from planning to operational delivery daily.
- Be able to successfully maintain the balance between sales/commercial expectations and targets alongside operational delivery and utilisation.
- Be able to build trust and work together as one team to deliver the ultimate overall goal and service to our customers and the business.
- Ensure uncompromised standards for service and passenger safety are always delivered.
- Successfully managing relationships with drivers.
- Working towards PCV Transport Manager CPC

Key Skills and Experience Required:
- PC Literate – Microsoft packages.
- Understanding of the road passenger transport sector.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work without supervision, with a problem-solving attitude.
- Must be able to work towards and meet strict deadlines.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Coach Manager experience an advantage.
