Woodstock Day Nursery has an excellent local reputation caring for babies, toddlers and pre-school children; the nursery runs from a detached house close to Worthing seafront and the town centre. We are fortunate to have a very experienced and well-qualified team of practitioners, including 3 EYTs.
With the introduction of the 9-month funding we have found our intake of babies has increased, hence the need to add to our present team.
This is a PERMANENT position.
The nursery is run on a day-to-day basis by two joint Managers.
You will be expected to:
· hold an Early Years level 3 qualification OR an Early Years level 2 qualification (proof of qualification will be required)
· to have worked in a Day Nursery (we will consider a newly qualified applicant with nursery work experience)
· you must have a clear enhanced DBS (this will be renewed for the successful applicant) and 2 references, 1 of which will be from your last childcare setting.
· be able to prove your qualifications and your right to work in the UK
· you should have a thorough knowledge of the EYFS and Characteristics of Effective Learning
·to be able to speak, read & write English clearly to effectively communicate to children, parents, colleagues & other professionals.
· preferably hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate, but we can arrange a 12 hour course

Successful candidates must follow relevant guidance set out in statutory safeguarding frameworks, including ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children,’ ‘Prevent duty guidance for England and Wales’ and ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education.’ An enhanced DBS background check and a minimum of 2 references are required before employment commences. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Successful candidates will need to present original copies of documentation to demonstrate proof of their identity, proof of address and proof of their right to work in the UK. Permanent role. Full time, set shifts between 715am and 6pm (one half day per week when working 40 hours per week). Part time role can be considered working three full days of 730am to 6pm or variations.
The rate paid will depend upon your qualifications, experience and age. 28 days leave including bank holidays pro rata.
You will join the workplace pension scheme.
· Ensuring a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care, remaining positive and caring in all your interactions with the children
· Working as part of an experienced, supportive team to provide an enabling environment in which all children can play and learn according to each child’s individual stage of development
· We will support your own Continued Professional Development by providing nursery publications, completing online courses and sending you on appropriate training
· You will be a Keyperson and keep records of your key children’s development through our online system eylog, sharing information with their parents and other key adults
· We hold regular staff meetings (on the second Tuesday of the month) after nursery hours; you will be paid to attend these meetings
