Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and dedicated Class 1 & Class 2 HGV Drivers to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles to deliver goods efficiently and reliably across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with a proactive attitude, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 (articulated lorries) and Class 2 (rigid lorries) vehicles to complete scheduled deliveries and collections.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads such as flatbed deliveries or other specialized freight.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures during driving operations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery notes, logs, and vehicle inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
- Assist with route planning to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency while adhering to legal driving hours.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) HGV driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with delivery operations involving flatbed or similar freight.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards applicable to heavy goods vehicle operation.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks related to loading/unloading cargo safely.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude on the road.
- Experience operating a Moffett forklift would be advantageous; however, training can be provided.
