Lead FiveM Developer – Central London Roleplay
Central London Roleplay is an upcoming British FiveM roleplay community currently in development.
We are looking to recruit one experienced Lead FiveM Developer who can take ownership of the technical development of the project and work directly alongside server ownership to build Central London Roleplay from the ground up.
This is not a position where we are looking for someone simply to install a pre-built server package. We want someone who understands FiveM development and can help us create, integrate and maintain a high-quality British roleplay environment.
ABOUT CENTRAL LONDON ROLEPLAY
Central London Roleplay is being developed as an immersive London-inspired roleplay server with a strong focus on interconnected departments and realistic civilian opportunities.
Our planned systems include:
- British-style Police
- Ambulance and Paramedic services
- Fire & Rescue
- NHS Hospital and Emergency Department
- 999 emergency response
- Police custody
- Evidence and investigation systems
- Solicitors and legal representation
- Prosecution
- Magistrates' and Crown Court
- Prison and probation
- Civilian businesses
- Pubs, bars and nightclubs
- Restaurants and hotels
- Player-owned businesses
- Private security
- Garages and vehicle systems
- Housing
- Civilian careers
- Council and licensing roles
Our goal is to create a city where these systems interact rather than operate as completely separate jobs.
THE POSITION
As our Lead FiveM Developer, you will be the primary technical developer for Central London Roleplay.
You will work directly with ownership to determine how planned features can be implemented and will have significant input into the technical direction of the server.
Responsibilities may include:
- Leading the technical development of the FiveM server
- Setting up and maintaining the core server framework
- Developing custom FiveM resources
- Configuring and modifying existing resources
- Creating custom jobs and departments
- Developing Police, NHS, Fire, Justice and civilian systems
- Database design and management
- Integrating different resources and systems
- Developing or modifying UI/NUI systems
- Diagnosing and resolving bugs
- Server performance optimisation
- Implementing appropriate server-side security
- Managing development versions and updates
- Testing updates before production deployment
- Maintaining backups and version control
- Documenting important systems
- Advising ownership on technical feasibility
- Helping establish future development standards
- Potentially helping recruit and supervise additional developers as the community grows
You will have creative input into how systems are designed. We are looking for somebody who can suggest better solutions when appropriate rather than simply following instructions without discussion.
EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Applicants should have strong FiveM development experience.
Experience with the following would be particularly useful:
- Lua
- QBCore, Qbox and/or ESX
- MySQL
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- NUI
- FiveM natives
- OneSync
- Git/version control
- Server optimisation
- Secure server-side development
- Discord integrations
- Custom job development
- Inventory systems
- Economy/banking systems
- Vehicle and garage systems
- Permission systems
Experience with British roleplay servers would be beneficial but is not essential.
THE IDEAL APPLICANT
We are looking for somebody who:
- Has genuine FiveM development experience
- Can demonstrate previous development work
- Can write and understand Lua
- Understands client-side and server-side development
- Can create custom resources
- Can substantially modify existing resources
- Understands databases
- Understands basic FiveM security principles
- Can diagnose performance problems
- Writes organised and maintainable code
- Uses version control
- Communicates progress clearly
- Can work independently
- Is comfortable discussing ideas with ownership
- Tests work before deployment
- Can document major systems
- Is reliable and trustworthy
- Respects intellectual property and software licensing
We are particularly interested in someone who can genuinely develop systems rather than relying entirely on pre-made scripts.
DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS
Central London Roleplay will not knowingly use leaked, stolen or unlawfully redistributed FiveM resources.
The Lead Developer must not:
- Install leaked resources
- Redistribute paid resources
- Copy proprietary resources from other communities
- Introduce malicious code or backdoors
- Share project files without permission
- Provide unauthorised third parties with server access
Any third-party resources introduced to the project must be appropriately licensed.
DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT
Development will primarily take place within a dedicated development/testing environment.
Updates should be tested before being deployed to the live server.
Access to sensitive systems will be provided according to what is required for the role. Ownership and financial accounts will remain controlled by server ownership.
As Lead Developer, you will naturally require greater technical access than other development positions, but security and accountability will remain important.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT TEAM
Initially, we are specifically recruiting one Lead Developer.
As Central London Roleplay develops, we may expand the team with positions such as:
- FiveM Developer
- Junior Developer
- UI/NUI Developer
- Vehicle Developer
- EUP/Clothing Developer
- Mapping/MLO Developer
The successful Lead Developer may be involved in interviewing, assessing and coordinating future development team members.
APPLICATION
When applying, please provide:
- Your FiveM development experience
- How long you have been developing for FiveM
- Frameworks you have worked with
- Programming languages you use
- Your strongest areas of development
- Examples or a portfolio of previous work
- Examples of resources you have personally developed
- Your experience with SQL/databases
- Your experience with Git/version control
- Your experience with server optimisation
- Any experience developing custom jobs or larger systems
- Any previous British RP development experience
- Your general availability
- Why you are interested in becoming Lead Developer for Central London Roleplay
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to an informal voice interview to discuss the project and their technical experience.
Applicants may also be asked to explain examples of code they have personally written.
Any practical assessment will be kept small and reasonable and will be used to demonstrate technical ability rather than obtain substantial unpaid development work.
THE PROJECT
We want Central London Roleplay to become more than another generic FiveM server.
Our vision is an interconnected British RP environment where a single incident could involve multiple parts of the community.
A police investigation could progress through custody, solicitors, prosecution and court.
An ambulance crew could assess a patient before transporting them into an operational NHS Emergency Department.
A serious incident could involve Police, Ambulance, Fire & Rescue and hospital teams simultaneously.
Civilian players could operate businesses, work within hospitality, drive taxis, work in garages, provide security or simply live within the city.
The Lead Developer will play an important role in turning that vision into a functioning FiveM environment.
