Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team at a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality senior care. This role offers an opportunity to supervise and support care staff whilst ensuring residents receive personalised and compassionate care in a safe environment. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs.
Duties
- Supervise and support care staff in delivering daily assistance to residents, ensuring adherence to care plans and organisational policies
- Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly to the appropriate medical personnel
- Foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence for all residents
- Administer medication as prescribed
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and resident progress using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare providers, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior care or working within a care home setting, with supervising or leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to utilise IT systems for documentation purposes
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to supervise staff efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of resident care
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to delivering person-centred support tailored to individual needs
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating leadership qualities
Pay: £13.32 per hour
