About the Role
We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Pub Supervisor to support the management team in the day-to-day running of the venue.
The Pub Supervisor plays a key role in leading shifts, supporting team members and ensuring every customer receives great service. You’ll be expected to lead by example, maintain high standards and help create a positive atmosphere for both customers and staff.
This is a hands-on role that requires someone who can stay calm under pressure, solve problems quickly and keep the business running smoothly during busy trading periods.
Key ResponsibilitiesShift Management
- Lead and manage shifts in the absence of the manager.
- Ensure the venue is ready for service and operating efficiently.
- Monitor service standards throughout each shift.
- Handle customer issues and complaints professionally.
- Support opening and closing procedures.
Team Leadership
- Lead by example and set high standards of service.
- Support the training and development of team members.
- Motivate staff and encourage a positive team culture.
- Assist with staff briefings and shift handovers.
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback where required.
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Build positive relationships with regular customers.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively.
- Ensure all areas of the venue remain welcoming, clean and well presented.
Stock & Cash Management
- Assist with stock control and stock takes.
- Monitor wastage and report issues to management.
- Follow cash handling procedures and complete cashing-up duties when required.
- Report maintenance or equipment issues promptly.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure licensing laws are followed at all times.
- Maintain health and safety standards across the venue.
- Support food safety procedures where applicable.
- Ensure all team members follow company policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a pub, bar, restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to lead from the front.
- Ability to remain organised and calm during busy periods.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
