We are currently seeking motivated and reliable General Operatives to join our Manchester site.
The Role
As a General Operative, you will play a key role in the sorting, grading, repair and recycling of wooden pallets. Working within a busy yard environment, you will help ensure pallets meet our quality standards and are processed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and grade incoming pallets according to company specifications.
- Inspect pallets and identify repair requirements.
- Repair wooden pallets using approved hand and power tools.
- Dismantle damaged pallets and recover reusable timber components.
- Stack and store pallets safely within the yard.
- Maintain a clean and organised working area.
- Follow all company quality, environmental and health & safety procedures.
- Support general yard and production activities as required.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Good level of physical fitness and ability to undertake manual handling tasks.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience in pallet repair, manufacturing, recycling, warehousing, construction or a similar hands-on role.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
Full training will be provided for suitable candidates.
