ADG Architects Ltd is looking for a motivated Architectural Technician to join our growing practice in Darlington.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, assisting with the delivery of architectural projects across a variety of sectors. The successful candidate will support senior team members with the production of technical information, coordination of design work and day-to-day project delivery while gaining experience across all RIBA work stages.
Working within a supportive environment, you will contribute to projects from concept through to completion, developing your technical knowledge and project experience.
The Role
As an Architectural Technician, you will support the technical development and delivery of architectural projects. Working alongside experienced architects and technologists, you will assist with preparing technical information, coordinating design work and ensuring projects progress smoothly through the planning, technical design and construction stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce technical drawings, schedules and construction documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Assist with the preparation of planning applications, Building Regulations submissions and technical information.
- Support the coordination of information with architects, engineers, consultants and contractors.
- Ensure drawings comply with UK Building Regulations, technical standards and company procedures.
- Assist with the development of BIM models and project documentation.
- Attend Design Team Meetings (DTMs), site meetings and client meetings alongside senior team members.
- Assist with site inspections and responding to technical queries during construction.
- Help coordinate project information, programmes and drawing issues.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively within the design team to deliver projects to programme and a high standard.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience working within an architectural practice.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- A good understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads.
- A proactive attitude and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable, as the role will involve occasional site visits.
