About the role
CareForMe is looking for registered nurses to join us as Community Engagement Nurses for a flexible 6-8 week summer programme. Designed to fit around your existing commitments, this role offers an opportunity to earn supplementary income while making a meaningful impact in the community and work on clinical research.
We're looking for nurses with experience engaging ethnically diverse and underserved communities. We particularly welcome applications from nurses who can communicate in one or more commonly spoken South Asian languages, including Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Marathi.
As a Community Engagement Nurse, you will act as a trusted point of contact between CareForMe and local communities, building relationships, raising awareness of cognitive impairment and clinical research, and helping people from all backgrounds access and take part in research that matters to them. No previous clinical research experience is required, we'll provide all the training you need.
What you'll do
- Engage with and educate patients and community groups about cognitive impairment and clinical research.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with diverse patient populations, becoming a long-term point of contact for research in your community.
- Support recruitment of participants into clinical research studies, improving representation of ethnically diverse and underserved communities in research.
- Share community insights with the CareForMe team to shape how studies are run.
What we look for
- Registered nurse (NMC registration required).
- A passion for engaging with communities and improving access to healthcare and clinical research.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English. Ability to speak one or more South Asian languages preferred.
- Confident and vocal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and accessibly.
- Research experience desirable but not essential, full training provided.

Commitment
- 5-8 hours per week scheduled around your availability for 6 weeks, starting August 2026
- Following the summer programme, there may be opportunities to continue supporting CareForMe remotely for approximately 2–3 hours per week, depending on project requirements and your availability.
