Hansons Auctioneers is a leading nationwide auctioneers and valuers, with 12 salerooms across the UK. The head office, based in Etwall, Derbyshire is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role is crucial in the day-to-day operations of our busy auction business and involves overseeing the client and vendor accounts and face-to-face customer service. Key Responsibilities to include:
- To manage and account for all payments in from buyers,
- To manage and account for all payments out to our sellers
- Daily balancing of the client bank account to our auction software
- Take payments in person and over the phone
- Uphold anti money laundering customer due diligence
- Credit control
- Assisting with customer queries
What we are looking for:
- Excellent customer service skills – in person, on the phone, and by email
- Numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in IT, especially Microsoft Excel, and a willingness to learn our auction software package, and our accounting software Xero
- Competent with online banking
- An organised approach to work
- Ability to work independently, but to also work as a team
- Willingness to share responsibilities and to provide holiday cover for other team members
- Some accounts background preferred, but not essential – full training will be given
- Full time role, but part time preference will be considered.
