Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to senior care. This role offers an opportunity to supervise and support a team of healthcare assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care tailored to residents' individual needs. The Senior Healthcare Assistant will play a vital part in implementing care plans, maintaining safety standards, and fostering a warm, supportive environment for the residents.
Duties
- Supervise and support healthcare assistants, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and professional care
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
- Implement and review personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Support residents with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff through effective communication skills
- Contribute to organising activities that promote residents’ physical and mental wellbeing
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior care or a care home environment with supervising responsibilities
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team of healthcare assistants
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to adapt care approaches accordingly
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for older adults

Pay: £13.75 per hour
Experience:
- Senior care: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- DBS on the Update Service (preferred)
