Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation areas by handling cleaning duties, sorting deliveries to include checking and unpacking stock, and supporting kitchen staff during service. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality and culinary sectors. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by helping with serving and replenishing supplies.
- Interact with residents when completing the morning tea trolly round.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Dispose of waste correctly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
- Assist with deliveries, including checking, unpacking, and storing stock correctly.
- Restock supplies as needed and report any maintenance issues to management promptly.
- Clean down the dining room and relay for the next meal.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to prevent accidents or contamination.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable
- Experience in serving or working within a culinary setting can be beneficial.
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment with attention to cleanliness and organisation.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food service and hospitality standards. This role provides an excellent foundation for those looking to develop their career within the hospitality industry while contributing positively to our team’s success.

Pay: £13.25 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week on a 2 week rota (every other weekend required, and includes split shifts 8am-2pm & 4pm - 8pm)
