Job Overview
We have an opportunity for an experienced chef working part time or full time with day time hours and a flexible working pattern over a four day week.
Primarily working Sunday,Monday,Tuesday and Friday 9-5 with occasional extra shifts.
Capable of working alone or in a small team in a busy kitchen producing fresh food to good standards.
Duties
- Help to coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring efficient food production and service.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications and customer preferences.
- Assist food preparation processes, ensuring all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and utilised effectively.
- Support the kitchen team by providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items that reflect current culinary trends and customer feedback.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order and report any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Previous supervisory or team management experience is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on fostering teamwork within the kitchen.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
