A specialist SEND school in Coventry is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to provide 1:1 support for a pupil who needs additional behavioural and emotional guidance. This is an opportunity to become a trusted adult, helping a young person overcome barriers to learning while building the confidence and resilience they'll carry far beyond the classroom.
What you'll be doing
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and develop positive behaviours.
- Supporting learning in the classroom alongside teachers and teaching assistants.
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement.
- Working collaboratively with the wider SEND team to achieve the best outcomes for every pupil.
- Providing personal care where required.
We're looking for someone who...
- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Builds positive relationships through patience, empathy, and consistency.
- Remains calm under pressure and is confident using behaviour support strategies.
- Believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
- Holds a DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
