Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for Delivering and collecting skips safely and efficiently across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety and vehicle maintenance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and Skip Loader operations to contribute to our company's success.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Skip lorries and other commercial vehicles over designated routes
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues
- Secure cargo appropriately to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
- Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles, preferably with Skip lorries
- Valid UK driving licence suitable for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or equivalent
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of road networks and navigation systems within the region
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo securement
- Ability to operate vehicle controls confidently and responsibly
- Excellent organisational skills with a focus on punctuality and reliability
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
