Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Store Detective to protect our retail environment from theft and misconduct. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring store premises through surveillance, conducting patrols, and ensuring a safe shopping experience for customers and staff alike. Duties
- Conduct regular surveillance of store areas using CCTV systems and physical patrols to deter theft and identify suspicious activity.
- Monitor customer and staff behaviour, intervening when necessary to prevent theft or misconduct.
- Write detailed reports on incidents, suspicious activities, or security breaches, ensuring accurate documentation for management review.
- Collaborate with store management and security personnel to develop strategies for loss prevention.
- Maintain a visible presence within the store to reassure customers and staff of their safety.
- Ensure all security equipment is functioning correctly and report any malfunctions promptly.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in surveillance, security, or loss prevention is preferred but not essential.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to recognise suspicious behaviour swiftly.
- Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail.
- First aid certification is desirable; training can be provided if necessary.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
