Many of our products are mounted onto truck chassis provided by a wide variety of suppliers including DAF, Scania and Mercedes. Therefore, we need to work closely with all chassis manufacturers to develop and produce chassis specifications suitable for our range of products.
It is also important that we proactively monitor the progress of leading truck chassis suppliers regarding zero-emission technologies to help inform the future development programmes for our products.
Our business is growing, and chassis options are becoming more complex. This position is required to closely support the Chassis Application Manager:
What the job involves:
- Liaising with truck chassis suppliers and the Bucher engineering team to ensure we have suitable chassis specifications for our products.
- Providing guidance to the Bucher sales team and dealer network to help influence and steer our customers towards suitable chassis choices.
- Create chassis specifications including driveline and weight calculations for sweepers, and winter products (for UK use).
- Maintain up-to-date chassis specifications and ensure they are available in a shared space for reference and use by product management and engineering teams.
- Support the sales enquiry process for truck chassis for all products giving advice on specification, weight analysis and drive calculations to the sales regions
- Check and approve sales orders.
- Create high level chassis part numbers and specifications ready for population by the Application engineering team.
- Support communications and collaborate with all major truck chassis suppliers on an on-going basis.
- To ensure they continue to develop diesel chassis compatible with Bucher equipment (for example sweeper skid units), and that we remain up to date with new truck chassis legislative standards including exhaust emission requirements
- To track and document developments in alternative chassis technologies, including electric and hydrogen power, to help inform internal R&D and product roadmaps.
- Act as adviser to the engineering team on new developments to ensure that any new product is suitable for the available chassis.
- Maintain skid installation manual and supplements.
- Advise Bucher purchasing team on all technical aspects of the chassis to assist with obtaining the best commercial offer.
- Contribute to maintaining a high level of housekeeping and attention to health and safety issues to create a healthy and safe working environment.
- Willingly carry out any other duties deemed appropriate by the Company.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong communication in English language (reading, writing and verbal).
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships with individuals and teams.
- Competent in Windows 11, Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to self-learn, ask for help and liaise with colleagues and external suppliers through good communication.

- Valid UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel within UK and overseas if required.
