Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant – Part Time
Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9am - 5pm
We are looking for a part time kitchen porter/ kitchen assistant that is interested in food and cooking. The role is for 3 days a week - Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week. The role includes cleaning and washing up but also some food preparation and ingredient weighing. The role will suit either someone junior that wants to get into the industry or someone with some experience that wants to work with fresh food, award winning sourdough bread and learn to cook from scratch. You need to be fit as the role involves some heavy lifting and stairs.
You will be an integral member of our kitchen team. This is a busy professional environment and you must be reliable - you must turn up. You must be quick and clean. Importantly you must be able take instructions from a female led senior kitchen team. Our KPs regularly move into fulltime cooking roles. This is a permanent position. We feed you on shift and you’ll be working with a great team.
Duties include:
1. Washing up kitchen equipment as well as shop crockery, cutlery;
2. Ensuring the kitchen and equipment is clean at all times;
3. Assist in food preparation, pealing, chopping, weighing ingredients etc;
4. Completing all tasks/ food preparation in a professional manner, i.e., efficiently, cleanly, safely, quickly;
5. Putting away deliveries;
6. Washing walls and all surfaces;
7. Sweeping and moping the kitchen;
8. Completing daily cleaning schedules;
9. Following opening, daily and closing ‘to do lists’;
10. Cleaning the toilets and toilet floors.
