Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Room Leader to join our established early years setting. The successful candidate will lead a designated room, ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, and safeguarding are maintained at all times.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Level 3 practitioner (or above) who is passionate about early childhood education and confident in leading a team to deliver outstanding practice in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the designated room, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
- Plan, implement, and oversee high-quality learning opportunities in accordance with the EYFS framework.
- Monitor and support children’s learning and development through observation, assessment, and planning.
- Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare requirements are consistently met.
- Supervise, support, and mentor room staff, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory and nursery requirements.
- Build strong, professional partnerships with parents and carers to support children’s progress and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with the management team to contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursery.
- Support staff deployment and ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios are maintained at all times.
Person Specification
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or above).
- Proven experience working within an early years setting.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and safeguarding requirements.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
- A proactive, positive, and professional approach to childcare and teamwork.
- Paediatric First Aid is essential
