We are seeking a skilled & enthusiastic Band 7 Physiotherapist with experience of working in neurology and with a complex multi-pathology caseload. You will be committed to deliver high quality, patient centred therapy, demonstrating the value of physiotherapy interventions and striving for the best outcomes.
You will have advanced clinical assessment skills in neuro-physiotherapy designing treatment plans to promote functional improvement. You will work closely with the Highly Specialised OT and as part of a Neuro AHP MDT.
You will support patient flow with timely assessment of complex patients making recommendations for discharge including home based support, inpatient or specialised inpatient rehabilitation and support other staff with decision making..
An integral part of your role will be training and developing staff to gain skills in neuro-physiotherapy assessment and treatment to enable ward level management of patients and to be an expert resource for staff.

To take a lead role in the Physiotherapy management of patient’s presenting to the service with neurological conditions and impairments for example, traumatic and acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and progressive neurological conditions. The post holder will also be required to in-reach into the Intensive Care Unit to provide Physiotherapy advice/intervention for patients where a prolonged ITU stay may put them at risk of a significant deterioration in function.
To be an autonomous practitioner providing evidence-based Physiotherapy assessment and treatment within the specialty for patients with acute and complex presentations. To be competent to manage this caseload of patients, demonstrating high-level problem-solving ability, clinical reasoning skills and own independent judgement.
To work closely and in collaboration with the equivalent Highly Specialised Occupational Therapist (OT) post in the team to manage therapy needs for the neurology/complex multi-pathology caseload.
To ensure that both profession specific treatments and interventions and those where a joint working focus are required are delivered in a timely, effective and consistent manner.
To work in collaboration with the Highly Specialised OT to agree patient centred goals for the allocated caseload and the appropriate use of outcome measures to demonstrate efficacy of intervention.
