Pub Team Member – The King’s Head
The King’s Head is looking for friendly, reliable and hardworking Team Members to join our pub team in Guildford.
This is a hands-on hospitality role where you’ll be serving customers, preparing drinks, keeping the pub looking great and working closely with the rest of the team to make sure every shift runs smoothly.
You don’t need loads of experience. We’re looking for people with a good attitude, confidence around customers and a willingness to learn. Previous pub, bar or hospitality experience is a bonus, but full training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and efficient service to customers at the bar.
- Take drink and food orders accurately and process payments through the till.
- Prepare and serve beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and other beverages to the correct standard.
- Maintain a good knowledge of the products we sell and help customers with questions or recommendations.
- Keep the bar clean, tidy and well stocked throughout the shift.
- Restock fridges, glassware, spirits and other bar supplies when required.
- Collect, wash and return glasses efficiently during service.
- Complete daily cleaning and housekeeping tasks across the pub.
- Help keep customer areas, toilets and outside areas clean and presentable.
- Follow responsible alcohol service procedures, including checking ID when required.
- Follow all licensing, health & safety, food safety and fire safety procedures.
- Communicate clearly with Supervisors, Managers, the kitchen and other team members.
- Help deliver food to tables and clear tables where required.
- Deal with customer questions or minor issues politely and refer more serious problems to a Supervisor or Manager.
- Follow opening, closing and shift procedures as directed by the person running the shift.
- Complete assigned jobs properly and let the Supervisor know when they are finished or if there is a problem.
- Report stock shortages, breakages, equipment problems or safety concerns to a Supervisor or Manager.
- Support other members of the team during busy periods and help wherever needed.

- Previous hospitality or bar experience is helpful but not essential.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.

As a Team Member at The King’s Head, you’ll be a big part of the customer experience.
We want people who are welcoming, helpful and willing to work together. Whether you’re serving someone at the bar, clearing glasses, restocking during a busy service or helping another member of the team, everyone is expected to contribute and help keep the pub running properly.
For the right person, there will also be opportunities to learn more about the pub, develop your skills and take on additional responsibility over time.
