Job Title: Aftersales Business Development Executive

Role Purpose
The Aftersales Business Development Executive is responsible for driving profitable growth across the aftersales operation, with a primary emphasis on trade and workshop parts sales along with workshop labour sales growth. The role is focused on developing new trade parts business, increasing customer retention, expanding account penetration, and supporting parts growth through strong commercial activity and customer engagement. While workshop labour sales remains an important part of the position, the role is principally parts-led, working directly with the Site Aftersales Manager to maximise parts opportunity across both retail and workshop channels within the company’s Mercedes-Benz franchise operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, develop, and grow trade parts sales across the company’s Mercedes-Benz franchise brands by building strong relationships with independent garages, bodyshops, fleet operators, and other local business customers.
- Drive workshop parts sales by working closely with the site Parts Advisors, Service Advisors, Technicians, and the Site Aftersales Manager to maximise parts penetration on every repair order within the Mercedes-Benz franchise operations.
- Develop targeted sales activity to win new trade accounts, reactivate dormant accounts, and increase turnover from existing trade customers for Mercedes-Benz genuine parts and approved product lines.
- Manage regular customer contact through telephone prospecting, customer visits, follow-up activity, and local market engagement to strengthen the trade parts pipeline for the Mercedes-Benz brands represented by the business.
- Promote parts offers, campaigns, seasonal opportunities, and value-added propositions to increase trade and workshop parts sales performance in line with Mercedes-Benz franchise and company objectives.
- Monitor lost parts sales, quotation conversion, and customer buying patterns, taking action to recover opportunities and improve Mercedes-Benz parts revenue.
- Support workshop labour sales growth through engagement with the Site Aftersales Manager and service team, helping identify opportunities linked to service retention, follow-up activity, and aftersales campaigns within the Mercedes-Benz franchise operations.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure pricing, stock availability, service levels, delivery performance, and communication support the growth of trade and workshop parts sales across the Mercedes-Benz franchise brands.
- Analyse sales performance, customer activity, and market opportunities to identify trends, risks, and areas for profitable growth within the Mercedes-Benz parts operation.
- Maintain accurate records of customer activity, prospecting, account development, and pipeline opportunities using internal systems.
- Represent the business professionally at all times, delivering excellent customer service and supporting compliance with company and Mercedes-Benz franchise standards.

- Growth in trade parts turnover, margin, and customer account base.

- Number of new trade accounts opened, reactivated, and developed.
- Improvement in parts quotation conversion and recovery of lost sales opportunities.

Skills, Experience and Attributes
- Previous experience within the motor trade, ideally in parts, trade parts, aftersales sales development, or a commercially focused parts environment, with Mercedes-Benz or premium franchise experience being advantageous.
- Strong understanding of parts operations, trade parts sales, customer pricing, and account development, ideally within a franchised dealer environment.
- Commercially driven with a proven ability to identify, develop, and convert sales opportunities.
- Good awareness of workshop operations and the relationship between service activity and parts sales.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with site departments.
- Competent in using dealer management systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on business opportunities.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
