Multi-Skilled Bakery Engineer
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Multi-Skilled Bakery Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving our bakery production equipment, ensuring maximum reliability, efficiency, and minimal downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fault finding, diagnosis and repair of all types of equipment.
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
- Identify root causes of recurring faults and implement long-term engineering solutions.
- Work closely with production teams to maximise machine uptime and optimise manufacturing processes.
- Apply a strong multi-skilled engineering approach.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety, food safety and company standards.
Requirements
- Recognised engineering qualification (SVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Engineering)
- Five years' engineering experience (including apprenticeship).
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
- Experience working within a food manufacturing, bakery or FMCG environment is desirable.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations and HACCP principles.
- Flexible approach to working hours, and support outside business hours.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
- IT experience.
