We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for food safety standards. The Kitchen Assistant will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and contributing to the overall dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards
- Support chefs with basic cooking tasks and ingredient organisation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
- Help with food safety practices, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables or portioning ingredients as directed
- Serve food to staff or customers as required, ensuring presentation standards are met
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment
- Support catering events by setting up tables, serving dishes, and clearing after service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen procedures
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the kitchen setting
