Introduction
We are looking to hire a R&D technician to join our wider technical team to assist in the development of innovative new products, and the improvement of our existing products through method development and out-of-the-box thinking. What You'll Do:
Reporting to the technical manager, you will assist in the development of new products and processes using strong technical skills with a scientific approach.
Perform materials testing and experimentation while precisely recording experiment procedures, outcomes, and observations.
Deploy new testing strategies based on independent research.
Generate comprehensive reports to support project management and decision-making.
Ensuring the proper maintenance, calibration, and cleanliness of laboratory equipment.
Follow guidance from OEM manuals and recommendations.
Actively engage in technical meetings and discussions.
Produce periodic progress reports.
Continuously enhance technical skills and knowledge through self-directed learning.
Adhere to strict health and safety protocols in laboratory environments.
Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
Develop, write, and review SOPs, Risk Assessments, and COSHH forms for all laboratory processes.
Provide technical guidance to a range of stakeholders, both technical and otherwise.
Provide support for the quality team by assisting with QC testing and SPC implementation.

Your Qualifications and Traits:
Essential
Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a scientific subject (Materials Science, Chemistry, Physic or Civil Engineering).
Good practical skills.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Interest in sustainability and innovation.
Strong IT skills - Particularly with regards to word processing and spreadsheet software.
A high level of attention to detail.
The ability to think critically and troubleshoot problems independently.
Strong personal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
Two years experience in a technical role in a manufacturing environment (quality control, process engineering, development specialist etc).
Practical experience in scale up and new product development.
Practical experience of laboratory scale research or process development operations.
Knowledge of concrete properties and testing
Experience in statistical analysis techniques such as ANOVA, t-tests, and regression analysis.
Pay: £26,500.00-£32,000.00 per year
