Job Overview
Airblast Ltd is seeking a Contracts Engineer to join our Projects Office. This is a key technical and project support role, responsible for developing proposal drawings for blast and paint booth projects and progressing them through to client-approved layout drawings and project delivery documentation.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Projects Director, sales team, clients, suppliers, and internal project staff to ensure that proposed booth layouts are technically accurate, practical, and aligned with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare AutoCAD drawings for proposed blast and paint booth projects.
- Develop initial proposal drawings into detailed layout drawings for client review and sign-off.
- Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, site constraints, and layout preferences.
- Support the Projects Director with technical drawing packages and project documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure approved layouts are suitable for manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
- Review client specifications, RFQs, and proposal information to ensure drawings reflect the required scope of supply.
- Assist with project planning, progress tracking, and coordination once projects move from proposal stage into delivery.
- Maintain accurate drawing records, revisions, and client approval documentation.
- Support project management activities, including supplier coordination, technical queries, and communication with customers.
- Ensure drawings and layouts comply with relevant project requirements, safety considerations, and company standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong AutoCAD experience is essential.
- Experience producing technical layout drawings, preferably for industrial equipment, booths, enclosures, plant rooms, or similar projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, site layouts, and project documentation.
- Good understanding of project coordination and client approval processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawing work.
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.
- Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing, installation, or site-based project delivery.
- Familiarity with client approval drawings, general arrangement drawings, and project handover documentation.

Summary
This role would suit an experienced AutoCAD user with a strong technical drawing background who is looking to develop within a projects environment. The Contracts Engineer will play an important part in turning blast and paint booth proposals into approved layouts and supporting the successful delivery of projects.
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
